BPM Microsystems' high-speed device programmers

The 2800ISP in-system programming station incorporates BPM Microsystems' award-winning 8th Generation site technology utilizing Vector Engine® BitBlast in a custom-designed test fixture.  This allows customers to program flash architectures including eMMC, PCM and Raw NAND, plus microcontrollers and other device technologies on- board after reflow. Ideal for medium to high-volume production, the 2800ISP is configurable and can program up to 16 devices in parallel. High-density flash memory devices are able to achieve peak read/write speeds up to 24 Gbits per second. This solves the test bottleneck while allowing the operator to program the latest data just-in-time, all while attaining a very low programming cost per device

The 2800 production programmer is the world's fastest flash manual programming systemThe truly universal production solution supports microcontrollers, NAND flash, NOR flash, serial flash, managed NAND flash, E/EPROM, flash EPROM, and other technologies with densities up to an 8 Eb theoretical limit. Additionally, the system supports devices with voltages down to 0.7 (Vdd). The 2800 is powered by BPM Microsystems' Vector Engine Co-Processor® now with BitBlast technology also capable of peak rates up to 24 Gbits per second.  BitBlast provides an extra boost to programming speeds for managed NAND devices that utilize the eMMC interface, which drastically increases overall throughput.

BPM Microsystems now supports Lattice's iCE40 family of FPGAs

BPM Microsystems are receiving support for the iCE40 family of FPGAs from Lattice Semiconductor Corporation (NASDAQ: LSCC). The iCE40 FPGA family is supported on BPM Microsystems' 7th and 8th Generation platforms, the most versatile and universal programming solutions on the market today.

BPM Microsystems and Lattice have worked jointly to develop and qualify proactive support for the iCE40 family to guarantee quality results. This allows customers to come to BPM for programming solutions without delay. Combined with the correct socket solution, immediate support for this important family of devices is available by using the latest BPWin software release.

"Lattice programmable solutions are important to our customers," said Colin Harper, director of sales and marketing at BPM Microsystems. "We support thousands of Lattice programmable devices for customers around the world. It really made sense for BPM Microsystems to provide a solution for the iCE40 family as well."

The iCE40 family of FPGAs is designed for applications that have the most aggressive power, cost and footprint requirements. Ideally architected for smartphones, tablets, and other space and power constrained systems, the iCE40 family uses a highly cost optimized fabric. The iCE40 FPGA family is an ideal choice for functions such as sensor management, IR subsystems, custom connectivity, memory/storage expansion and glue logic.

Lattice Semiconductor is the world's leading provider of ultra-low-power programmable IC solutions for makers of smartphones, mobile handheld devices, small-cell networking equipment, industrial control, automotive infotainment and much more.

The 3800-MK2 Automated Programming System

BPM Microsystems has released the BPM model 3800-MK2. The new system was launched during the Productronica International Trade Fair in Munich, Germany.

The 3800-MK2 combines the fastest universal programming technology, 8
th Gen, with a fine-pitch handling system capable of processing the broadest range of programmable devices, from the largest QFP to the smallest WLBGA.

"Our customers rely on BPM Microsystems to provide innovative solutions that will meet their needs today and anticipate their future requirements," said Colin Harper, director of sales and marketing. "Our premium solutions are designed to program just about any device technology and form factor available. BPM's 8th Gen products already offer the fastest programming performance. Now, with the new 3800-MK2 customers can quickly setup and reliably process the smallest programmable devices on the market today.  As programmable devices get even smaller, the 3800-MK2 will be ready to do the job."

Applications for very small package (VSP) devices are accelerating and devices continue to shrink. The 3800-MK2 includes newly designed vision and pneumatic systems that provide this critical VSP support, achieving the required accuracy and repeatability for packages as small as 1 mm x 0.5 mm. With throughput capable of programming millions of devices per year, the highly configurable 3800-MK2 can simultaneously support tape, tray, tube and marking, all while maintaining a small footprint.
