Industrial ATEX certified impact wrench

Chicago Pneumatic offer its CP6748EX, ATEX certified (94/9/EC and 99/92/EC) and IP6 rated, industrial duty ½" impact wrench. The wrench's design, with ATEX classification I M2 / II 2GD c IIB 85°C X, provides a higher level of protection against accidental ignition of flammable gasses and dust in both above and below ground environments. The new CP6748EX combines the benefits of ATEX safety with efficiency, ergonomics, and advanced design to provide a tool for use in hazardous areas which is unmatched in the industry today.

With an ultimate torque of 800 ft-lbs. [1,085Nm] and 1,200 blows per minute (BPM), the CP6748EX will meet or exceed industrial or heavy maintenance operations' needs in the oil and gas, petrochemical, mining, and minerals processing industries, in addition to food and grain processing.

The CP6748EX delivers superior durability and features not found in similar tools. Durability is maximized thanks to the steel clutch housing, and motor components manufactured from the highest quality plain steel. In addition, return on investment is increased by incorporating reversible end plates and by the use of an oil bath twin hammer clutch mechanism which provides constant lubrication and helps reduce tool vibration.

The CP6748EX incorporates convenient features such as an easy-to-use single-handed, glove-friendly, forward/reverse switch and power regulator, friction ring retainer for rapid socket change, balanced grip and progressive teasing trigger. Compatible with Chicago Pneumatic reaction free balancers, the CP6748EX features an integrated suspension bail to reduce operator fatigue during repetitive operation.

Chicago Pneumatic has also expanded its range of ATEX certified wrenches with the addition of 3/4" and 1" drives, to provide the optimal tools for challenging industrial applications in explosive environments.

"We recognise the heavy industries, including oil and gas and mining, as important markets and we are excited to be launching our first ATEX certified wrench to meet the needs of customers working in these arduous environments," says Luis Clement, Chicago Pneumatic Tools Vice-president. "At Chicago Pneumatic we have over a century of expertise and have developed the CP67X8EX series to provide a complete range of tools to professionals."

The CP6748EX ATEX certified impact wrench is now available from Chicago Pneumatic Tools authorised distributors.

Chicago Pneumatic boosts Its ½" metal impact wrenches

Chicago Pneumatic has launched a new series of CP7736 ½" metal impact wrenches, to deliver more durability, power and user comfort for maintenance, repair and operations (MRO) applications. The compact CP7736 offers 670ft-lbs (900Nm) of torque, which is 20 per cent more than its predecessor, and has the best price performance ratio of its class on the market. As such, MRO professionals can operate more efficiently and increase their productivity.

There are two tools available in the range - the CP7736 ½" impact wrench and the CP7736-2 which includes a 2" long anvil attachment. The impact wrench is highly durable, with a new twin hammer mechanism providing a working torque of 51-568 ft-lbs (69-770 Nm) and a maximum torque of 670 ft-lbs (900 Nm). It features three power settings in forward and full power in reverse, which provides the user with greater control in all applications. In addition, it is robust with a steel motor and aluminum housing to provide excellent performance and withstand the tough workshop environment.

The wrench is ergonomic and has been designed for user comfort. The curved handle is placed under the centre of inertia to ensure the tool is well balanced to reduce the chance for wrist strain or long term damage to the user. In addition, a full teasing trigger gives the operator easy, controlled operation.

480"We are redesigning our metal impact wrench line to provide the excellent ergonomics, high quality and reliable performance that our users have come to expect from our brand nowadays," says Luis Clement, Chicago Pneumatic Tools Vice-president. "These new versions have seen an increase in the power offered to the user, they are more comfortable and still customers can enjoy our new CP7736 series at a very cost effective price."

With a range of additional accessories including impact socket sets and filter regulators, the new impact wrenches provide users with a versatile and durable tool for a range of maintenance jobs. The CP7736 series further compliments Chicago Pneumatic's vast range of maintenance and repair tools and equipment, including its brand new cordless tools range.
