NSK's new website facilitates smartphone and tablet use

NSK has re-launched its European websites with a new, stylish design and an optimised responsive layout for smartphone and tablet users. It represents a distinct shift towards embracing the requirements of engineers and purchasers who are frequently on the move - a growing reality of business in modern industrial sectors. With ease-of-navigation and clarity at its core, the responsive nature of the content enables optimised presentation based on the specific screen resolution of the device being used.

Among the major features of the re-launched site is an advanced ´Product Finder´, where users can quickly and easily identify the optimum product for their needs from the application requirements. Here, website visitors are able to filter products by category, industry/sector and condition/features, for example.

Further innovative functionality can be seen with the new ´Distributor Finder´, which allows users to rapidly source their nearest authorised NSK distributor and/or NSK sales office. Site visitors can filter by parameters such as distributor name, location or distance to ensure they receive the best possible sales support.

In total, NSK plans to re-launch its full site in eight core language versions, which will offer access to the full suite of company information, including products, services, industries, history, careers and multi-media options. In addition, some 21 micro-sites will be launched giving abbreviated information in local languages about NSK and how to find local contacts. These micro-sites will also contain a link to the English language website.

NSK re-launched its English website in April 2016, with all other main and micro-sites to follow in the subsequent weeks and months. It is anticipated that the entire project will be complete by Q2 2016.

Digital communication routes are vital for modern engineers. With this in mind, NSK regularly updates its website, adding new success stories, product information, press releases, upcoming events, catalogues, brochures, services, worldwide certifications and career opportunities, for example. As a result, the site provides existing and potential customers with a valuable online platform for information, wherever they are in the world.

NSK in profile
Established almost 100 years ago, NSK (Nippon Seiko Kabushiki Kaisha) is a Japanese-listed company that has evolved from a regional ball bearing supplier to a roller bearing specialist and automotive supplier with a global market presence. Today, NSK employs more than 30,500 employees in 29 countries. As per March 2014 NSK achieved a turnover of 6,2 billion Euros. This result has been driven by ever-increasing investment in research & development, enabling the company to continuously improve the quality of its products and services. This investment supports NSK's objective of "No. 1 in Total Quality". In addition to a complete rolling bearing portfolio, NSK develops and manufactures precision components and mechatronic products, as well as systems and components for the automotive industry, including wheel bearing units and electric power-steering systems.

In 1963, NSK's first European subsidiary, Düsseldorf, Germany, was opened and in 1976, the first European production facility in Peterlee, England. Today, NSK Europe supports pan-European sales with production locations in England, Poland and Germany, logistics centres in the Netherlands, Germany and England and technology centres in Germany, England and Poland. In 1990, NSK purchased the UPI Group including the renowned European bearing manufacturer RHP, with its factory in Newark (UK). Additionally, NSK has developed a comprehensive network of authorised sales distributors. NSK Europe is divided into application-based business divisions: Industry rolling bearing technologies & linear and precision technology (EIBU) as well as bearing modules and steering systems for the automotive industry (EABU & ESBU). In this organisation, NSK Europe's 3,500 employees achieved a turnover of over 900 million Euros as per March 2014.
